My Dad

Today is my Dad's birthday. So this is my tribute to my dad. Ever since I was little I have been Daddy's little girl. We have rode horses, worked cattle and had long talks together. He has always been my hero. He works harder than anyone I know and he loves me more than anyone else except for maybe my mom. He loves to give me advice and teach me new tricks like how to throw a rope or train a horse.  We have fixed tractors, changed the oil in my car and have fixed fence together. I tease him all the time about his gray hair coming through. He blames it on me, but I blame it on my brother and sister.

One of my favorite memories of my dad is of when I was 5 or 6. He was working into the city and worked from 8 to 5 most days of the week. Before school, we would saddle up the horses and go ride for about an hour. It was my time with dad. We talked about everything. To make it the best of both worlds we rode the horses. Most of my memories of my dad are either riding horses or checking the cows.

He loves to do crazy spontaneous things like take road trips or wake my family up at 2 in the morning to look at the stars, sometimes he chases buffalo and he  has always dreamed of being a pick-up man in a rodeo. So we have rounded up bucking bulls for fun! He loves to hunt and spend any time with my family.  From breaking horses to farming to hunting it seems like he does it all.   My dad is crazy, but I love him. I love his example to me and his testimony. He is one of the best men I know! So here's to my dad! He is 44 and still going strong! Love ya tons Daddy!

New Year Resolutions

1. Graduate-Definitely on the way there, I have three semesters left and year round school, but I will graduate in December if everything goes as plans.

2. Smile more- I want to find something good in every day! It is time to Smile a lot.

3. Be more productive- Focus on one thing at a time and do my absolute best on it.

They are kinda boring, but these are just a few things that went into my New Year's Resolutions!

2011

I decided that I should write about a couple of things that have happened in 2011.
Lets see... To start off the year.

My grandparents went to the Tallahassee Florida mission. This is the 2nd time they have gone on a couple mission. A little side note, this is my grandpa's original mission and he has renewed his friendship  with many of the people that he baptized forty plus years ago.

One of my best friends, Kortney, got her mission call to the Portugal Lisbon mission. She has now been in Portugal for 8 months.

My brother is also on a mission in the Berlin Germany mission. He will make 6 months on Jan. 6.

One of my other best friends, Chelsie, got married over the summer to an awesome guy. Still really excited for her!

I quit a job for the first time ever. Pretty scary, but the best decision I could have ever made.

I passed two really tough semesters and made it into my practicum.

My sister got a new truck and turned 17. Weird.

I got set apart as the 2nd counselor in the IWA Rachel Chapter and then it ended in December.

Although not technically in 2011, my roommate, Kathryn got engaged yesterday.

Other than those things, I have rode a lot of horses, rounded up a ton of cattle and farmed more than I probably wanted. There were some crazy times during the year, but I feel like it went really well. I learned so much and hopefully I was able to grow from those things that challenged me.  I'm not sure what 2012 will bring, but I'm sure it will be exciting.
