Tender Mercy

I woke up today wishing that I could go back to bed. I was so tired and every time I glanced at my bed it said, "I'm way more comfortable than anything else you have to do today." Let's be honest it probably is, but I had work so I started getting ready. Usually I leave my apartment by 6:40 because I have work at 7:00. Today I was a little later, like 6:55 when I walked out the door. At that point I knew I was going to be late because you can't make a 18 minute walk into 5 no matter how talented you are. I started walking up that devil of a hill (8th North) when all of the sudden a car stops and the gal asks if I would like a ride to campus. I don't know her, I recognize her from somewhere, but I totally say yes! She takes me all the way to the library and drops me off. I clock in at 7:02. I was only 2 minutes late to work.

I can't believe how nice it was for her to pick me up. It was such a tender mercy. I hate being late and really try hard to make it to classes, appointments and work on time. I found out as we were driving along that her name was Crystal and that she is in my Family and Cultural Diversity class. All I can say is that that was a huge blessing, a tender mercy. I'm so grateful to her for listening to the spirit and for Heavenly Father answering prayers that I didn't know I was even saying. I can testify that Heavenly Father knows each of us on a personal level. He knows our needs and wants and He loves us more than we can ever imagine.

I have Plans!

I'm so super excited!! I made plans for Valentine's Day!! A group of my friends are getting together to go out for dinner- Panda Express- then we are going to come back to my apartment and watch a movie- possibly a chick flick! I'm so excited! I can't even wait and it is really nice to have a plan!

I also found last night that I am going to HAWAII for Spring Break! Yeah you heard that right-HAWAII! I'm so excited! The sun, the warm weather, the shorts, the ocean- I really can't even wait! The only sad part is that I have no summer clothes, so I guess that means that I have to go shopping as well! Anyway so super excited! Can't even wait for Spring Break!

LOVE-LOVE-LOVE

Its the time of Love. Valentine's Day is right around the corner and boy oh boy am I wondering what I am going to do for it this year. Still unattached, still going to school, still living with engaged roommates, but I refuse to duck into my room and hide out like the single person that I am.

I think I am going to go out to eat- I'm thinking Panda Express and then I am going to invite my single friends and we are going to watch a comedy or action movie! No chick flicks, no bawl-your-eyes out movies either just good fun, a few chuckles and maybe a hot man, because who doesn't need a hot man around.

I'm loving life and even though I'm not loving my single status this time around, I'm going to be okay! Besides I have a few things to look forward to that make life really exciting!

  • Going home this weekend for a three day vacay! Can't wait to ride a horse, look at some super cute calves, play with my dog and see my best friend!
  • My parents decided that they would take me on a "Graduation Vacation" during Spring Break. (They haven't told me where yet, but said that I should start looking for summer clothes!)
  • Spring Break is 24 days away and counting!
  • Spring is right around the corner and I can't even wait! Looking forward to sunshine and fresh grass?Definitely!
  • And I really want a dog! I'm hoping that I can get one for graduation!!
Here's to loving life and being single on the "Love Holiday."

The Weekend

This weekend was actually a weekend! It was so exciting and started on Friday night! I had one of my good friends invite me to the hockey game between Weber and USU. I never knew it, but apparently both teams are really good and we have a long standing rivalry between the two schools.

The game was pretty intense and started out with two points for Weber. We then came back to make a point and tied it up right before the half. First half was kinda boring, not a whole lot of slamming, a few penalty boxes, and not a whole lot of points. But then the second half came. Holy Cow! It got crazy intense. There were a few times when we thought a fight was going to break out, but it didn't. The game was super close the entire time with one team scoring a point and then the other team tying it back up. Finally during the last two minutes, it got crazy. Weber was down by a point so they took out their goalie and tried to double team and score. It just so happened that USU got the puck made a run for it and scored on the empty goal. The game ended 6 to 4 and was a super hard fought game! It was crazy awesome! It was also my first official hockey game so really intense! After that we went back to my friends apartment, we talked and looked at all her pictures from Europe. (She taught English in Ukraine last semester.) It was so much fun!

Saturday was also a lot of fun! One of my old roommates birthday was on Saturday so we had to go out to eat. We went to Noodles and thoroughly enjoyed the food and company. After that we convinced Jena that you can't finish your birthday without pie. We crammed into her car and went to Village Inn! Shout-out to Village Inn-we had this awesome waitress! We told her that we wanted to embarrass Jena and asked if she could come up with something. So she brought waiters and waitresses and they sang Happy Birthday to her in English and Spanish! That waitress (Kirsta) was amazing and totally made it for us!!!  After that Jena, Alina and I went and rented a super dumb movie. Yuck. I won't even tell you which one because it was that bad. Anyway we celebrated her birthday and had a great day.

Sunday was of course the Superbowl. I couldn't care less about one team or another, but was invited to a party and ate a lot of food, watched a lot of commercials and kinda paid attention to the football. It was so much fun and what a weekend! I loved it all!
